Hilton Head!!

We're here!! It seems almost unreal to be writing a blog from Hilton Head. I'm admittedly filled with mixed feelings of excitement and nervousness.
I heard from my Bible Study leader, Becca, yesterday. The girls in my apartment will also be in my Bible Study so there will be four of us. I'm definitely excited to find out who my roommates are!
Please continue to pray for the team and I this summer. Several of us are still not completely financially supported including myself. I'll have to make some hard decisions in the next few days about where I'll be working and praying hard that the support comes in so I can budget for living expenses this summer with job earnings.
I know God has some great things in store. I also know that some of that may involve brokenness. I'm already being challenged in ways I've never experienced. Please pray for strength and obedience for me.
**a bit of encouragement I received yesterday**
As I got off the highway onto the outskirts of the island yesterday my ipod (on random shuffle at the time) began playing He Reigns by Newsboys. I turned it up and immediately thought how appropriate the lyrics were for the journey I'm embarking on and how perfect that that particular song played as I entered what will be our mission field.

It’s the song of the redeemed
Rising from the African plain
It’s the song of the forgiven
Drowning out the Amazon rain
The song of Asian believers
Filled with God’s holy fire
It’s every tribe, every tongue, every nation
A love song born of a grateful choir

It’s all God’s children singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns
It’s all God’s children singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns

Let it rise about the four winds
Caught up in the heavenly sound
Let praises echo from the towers of cathedrals
To the faithful gathered underground
Of all the songs sung from the dawn of creation
Some were meant to persist
Of all the bells rung from a thousand steeples
None rings truer than this

And all the powers of darkness
Tremble at what they’ve just heard
‘Cause all the powers of darkness
Can’t drown out a single word

When all God’s children sing out
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns
All God’s people singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns

Despite nervousness over whats to come, Gods forever faithful and strong. He's going to provide and protect. I'm excited to see what He'll teach me and how He'll mold myself and the team this summer. I'm seeing more and more the absolute necessity of staying as close as possible to Him for the risk of spiritual attack is so great when we step out in boldness to serve no matter what He asks. Please pray that the team and I never neglect our time with Him or take for granted this vital need.
I hope to post pictures soon of where we're staying and such. I hope you're all doing well and continually growing and seeing God move. Its so powerful to see His fingerprints on your life.

1 week to go!!

Only one week left until the team and I leave for Bluffton. Hard to believe its already here!
This week, I'll be spending time with my family and generally getting ready to move to the beach! (I'm sure you can imagine how difficult it is to imagine living at the beach for a whole summer ;) ) I'm very much looking forward to spending time getting to know and fellowshipping with the team. Perhaps the most exciting aspect of the summer is the amount of time I'll have the privilege to spend in such strong fellowship with some really amazing brothers and sisters (seriously, they quite regularly blow me away with the strength of their walks and faith) I know I'll learn so much from them! I just pray my life will exude Christ and maybe I'll have a word of encouragement or advice for them to take away as well.
With the start of project so quickly approaching I thought I'd pass on some prayer requests sent to us a few weeks ago. Please keep these in mind as you pray for myself and the team.

How to be praying for the summer:

Summer LINK Prayer Requests:

Pray for God’s provision for all of the team members’ financial support.

Pray for unity in heart and purpose among the team as we go to serve the Lord this summer in Bluffton.

Pray for the coworkers that God will place in our paths and that God would prepare their hearts to hear the gospel.
**some exciting news about my job this summer: I may get the opportunity to intern with the Crosspoint Bluffton staff! God's providing for this opportunity and I'm very excited about possibility. Please pray for everything to fall into place and for me as I serve with the staff.

Pray expectantly for God to work mightily in the lives of people we will meet in the Bluffton community.

Pray that our greatest desire would be to know Christ and to worship Him with our lives this summer.

Bluffton Church Planting Team’s Prayer Requests:

Pray for their team to continue to be united in Christ as they worship, fellowship, and serve together.

Pray for people in the community to begin to join us and become part of our launch team.

Pray for the families of the launch team to remain healthy and open in communication as they work hard in the specific responsibilities on the team.

Pray for small groups that are beginning to form in the neighborhoods and that peoples' lives will be transformed by the open relationships built in these environments.

Pray for the team to build authentic relationships with our neighbors and other people in the community as we live their lives for Jesus each day.

Pray for us to find specific needs in the community that they can provide and serve the community unconditionally.

Pray for financial needs that they have as they look for partnerships and sponsors both as a church plant and as individual church planters.

Pray for God to move in mighty ways in the hearts of the people of Bluffton to prepare them spiritually for the Gospel message that we will be bringing to them through our conversations and actions as we interact in the community.

Thank you all for caring about me and the team. Nothing we do would be possible without the power of prayer and encouraging support.
